Walter “Walt” Pettit Jr. ’49 (Republic, Mo.) was awarded the 2012 Missourian Award.

1950s

Carol (Junge) Loomis ’51 (Larchmont, N.Y.) has published her book Tap Dancing to Work: Warren Buffett on Practically Everything, 1966-2012: A Fortune Magazine Book.

William “Bill” Virdon ’53 (Springfield, Mo.) was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 2012.

1960s

Sharon (Payne) Bradley ’64 (Rogers, Ark.) was awarded the Lifelong Educator Award from the College of the Ozarks which was presented by former First Lady Laura Bush.

Romona (Beam) Baker ’66 (Willard, Mo.) was named one of Springfield Business Journal’s “20 Most Influential Women” for 2012.

James “Jim” Chappell ’65 (Kansas City, Mo.) was inducted in the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.

1970s

Linda (Beckstead) Daily ’71 (North Kansas City, Mo.) retired after over 20 years of service from the City of Kansas City, Missouri Human Relations department.

Dr. Michael Hutchinson ’72 (Southern Pines, N.C.) recently published his debut novel titled Washington Park.

Cindi (Arnett) Hemm ’77 (Broken Arrow, Okla.) received the Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women’s Carolyn Helman Lichtenberg Crest Award

Gary Levitch ’77 (Jacksonville, N.C. ) was honored by the Onslow County Chamber of Commerce for his outstanding leadership and contribution to the community.

Ann Elliot ’82 (Moberly, Mo.) was awarded the Kathryn Boone Outstanding Play Therapist Award at the annual Missouri Association of Play Therapy conference.

Susan (Humphrey) Montee ’82 (Jefferson City, Mo.) ran for Lt. Gov. of Missouri.

Karen Shannon ’82, MBA ’83 (Springfield, Mo.) joined Ollis & Company as the Human Resources Consulting Director.

Dr. Audrey (Mengwasser) Shillington ’82 (Fort Collins, Colo.) was named Colorado State University’s director of the School of Social Work.

Paul Wilson ’82 (Jefferson City, Mo.) was appointed by Gov. Jay Nixon to the Missouri Supreme Court.

Vicki (Cox) Bullock ’83 (Fulton, Mo.) was awarded the National 2012 Drum Major for Service Award by the Corporation for National and Community Service and was presented a letter of recognition and congratulations from President Obama.

Pam (Britton) Anderson ’86, M.Ed. ‘98 (Waynesville, Mo.) ran for a seat on the Waynesville School Board.

Amine Boustani M.Ed. ’94 (Richmond, Va.) joined Louisiana State University as the women’s tennis assistant coach.

James Owen ’00 (Springfield, Mo.) ran for the State House of Representatives 134th District seat.

Dana (Dooms) Webb ’00 (Strafford, Mo.) joined the Springfield School District as the principal for Bowerman Elementary.

Andrea (Ford) Fraser M.Ed. ’01 (Nixa, Mo.) joined the Springfield School District as the principal for Fremont Elementary.

Justin Puckett ’01 (Kirksville, Mo.) is now a Board Certified Obesity Medicine Physician through the American Board of Obesity Medicine and was elected President of the Missouri Society of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.

Matt Fridley ’02 (Rolla, Mo.) joined the Rolla School District as the principal for Mark Twain Elementary.

Zac Rantz M.A. ’02 (Nixa, Mo.) was selected to the National School Public Relations Association’s “35 under 35.”
